His research on international development has been published by journals such as Science and World Economics, and in book chapters from Oxford University Press, Routledge and the OECD. Much of this work has been completed in collaboration with the Harvard demographer and development economist, David Bloom.

David leads the Demos project, the New Public Diplomacy, with Alex Evans, from New York University’s Center on International Cooperation. Their joint publications include Climate Change: the state of the debate, published by the Corporation of London; and Fixing the UK’s Foreign Policy Apparatus: A memo to Gordon Brown. Recently, they were commissioned to present a paper on multilateralism and global risks to heads of state at the Progressive Governance Summit.
